Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you based?
We are a home-based bakery in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. We make all our cakes and traybakes fresh to order so unfortunately we don't have products to buy on the day.

How do I order?
Simply visit the 'Contact us' page and in your initial message please include the date you would like to collect, (not the occasion date), how many servings are required, allergies or dietary requirements and any ideas you may have. We will provide a quote and if you wish to book, confirmation of your order will be sent by email with payment details.
How do I pay?
Payment is required in full by bank transfer and orders are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit or debit cards.

How much notice do you need?
It's best to get pencilled in the diary as soon as possible and designs can be finalised a few weeks before. We will always try and fit in last minute orders though so please do ask!
How much are your cakes?
Starting prices for our cakes are below. All cakes have four layers of sponge inside and portions are approximate - it all depends how big you cut your slices! If it's just a token gesture piece, you could even get more out of them.

6" (feeds approximately 15-25) - £95
7" (feeds approximately 25-35) - £110
8" (feeds approximately 35-50) - £125
Toppers, fondant decorations, fresh and dried flowers are additional costs but these will be factored into the total cost quoted.
What flavours do you offer?
We offer the following sponge flavours and fillings:
  • Vanilla with raspberry or strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream
  • Chocolate with chocolate buttercream
  • Lemon with lemon curd and lemon buttercream
  • Coffee and walnut with coffee buttercream
  • Brown sugar sponge with Biscoff spread and Biscoff buttercream
  • Chocolate orange with chocolate orange buttercream
  • Chocolate with Nutella and chocolate buttercream
  • Red velvet with cream cheese

If no flavour is chosen vanilla sponge with jam and vanilla buttercream will be made.

Do you make Dairy and Gluten-Free products?
We can make gluten-free cakes and cupcakes and some dairy-free products but unfortunately we don't do dairy-free celebration cakes. Please note that we are not a gluten or dairy-free kitchen so we cannot guarantee that our products have not come into contact with gluten or dairy sources.
Where do I collect?
Collections are by appointment only and from the bakery, which is based at our home address. Please arrive at your agreed time or let us know if you are running late. We can wait up to 15 minutes but we may not be in after this.
Do you deliver?

Delivery is subject to availability and charged at £20 per hour plus mileage at 60p per mile.

Caring for your Cake
  • Please handle your cake with care and keep level at all times. Carry it flat by placing both hands underneath the box - holding the sides may cause damage to the cake.

  • Cakes should be transported in the front passenger footwell or the boot. In warm and hot weather, please ensure your air conditioning is on and that you have fridge space to store it. Drive carefully and avoid sudden stops and turns.

  • Remove the cake from the fridge 1-2 hours before serving, depending on the weather and room temperature.

  • Cakes should not be left at room temperature for extended periods of time, in direct sunlight or near a heat source.

  • Some cakes contain internal supports such as dowels, cocktail sticks or other decorative items which must be removed before serving. If your cake has toppers, please note that card, glues and glitter card are flammable materials so care must be taken to not allow them to get in contact with any flames.

  • Fresh flowers are a natural product and may wilt, particularly in warm weather.

  • Cupcakes should be kept in their box at room temperature but again, this depends on the weather. They should not be left in direct sunlight or near a heat source.

  • Cakes or cupcakes should be eaten within 2-3 days of the event to be enjoyed at their best. Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container either at room temperature or in the fridge. Bring to room temperature before serving if refrigerated.

Damages

Once your order has been collected, responsibility for safe transport, storage and handling passes to you. Please follow the advice and guidance given regarding handling and transportation.
